Shabby Buttons
I just dont understand it - portable consoles.?
why is it that game designers keep bringing out games on portables that arent meant for portable consoles?
i mean i havent looked at the PSP version of tom clancys endwar but why bring out a voice controlled game on something your gonna be playing on a train or a bus?
and guitar hero? thats just waaaaay over the line, yea im gonna look cool on the bus with my DS on my knee and a shabby little controller strapped to my hand clicking buttons.
have game designers lost touch with the definition and reasoning of portable gaming? what happened to these simple games where you could sit happily and not disturb people and sit at school or on public transport or if your younger, sit around your parents office and use as a weapon against boredom.
are portable games designers just begging for new games or are they giving into little whiny kids with not enough money to buy a 360 or PS3 who want bigger brand games on cheaper consoles?
No hold up a minute!
Who's to say that there aren't good portable games that are still simple and perfect for portable play? Lumines on the PSP is a great and addictive puzzle game, and the DS has a massive amount of casual games that are perfect for travel!
While there are still plenty of "console quality" or hardcore portable games, there's still plenty of casual games as well! The demand for each is pretty high! And, I believe that the reason why developers are making more hardcore titles for portable consoles is because people don't always play portable games while traveling or on the go! I play my PSP all the time while just sitting around at home, and plenty of other people do as well!
Developers are just trying to reach out to more than just one specific audience, they want to develop games for a very broad audience of people with all tastes and interests in gaming! You act as if this is a bad thing?! I don't understand why. It's just a natural move that the gaming industry has been making for quite some time now.
